Education on sustainable development and climate change should be present in all levels of education (from kindergarten to university). a. We have the right to know how our actions affect others and the wider environment. i. Education on sustainable development and climate change should therefore not be restricted to schools; but can also be done within civil society (e.g. through providing better information regarding (inter)national climate policy and more detailed environmental impact product information). b. Our current teachers and those who will become teachers in the future should have sufficient knowledge of climate change and sustainable development. c. We have the ability to teach each other; whether it be peer-peer education, education in the family sphere, or education within a community. 3. Our governments can support education on sustainable development and climate change by providing funding for research in these fields; or by providing scholarships for students working in these fields. 4. Education should be designed in such a way as to create involved and empowered citizens, for example through policy-making training and by doing environmental work within our communities.

We recommend a focus on social entrepreneurship and shared responsibilities. 3. We recognize that the knowledge of indigenous communities, as well as traditional knowledge and community knowledge, should provide the base for education on sustainable development and climate change and that education is therefore context-specific. 4. We recommend that education on sustainable development and climate change is done from an international, inclusive and holistic perspective.
Youth Commitments on Education on Sustainable Development and Climate Change 1. We, as the youth present at COY10, will share our knowledge of sustainable development and climate change with our peers and communities.

Hello! Thanks for your contribution! In regards to education, the health working group would like to see the following points being added: • Educational institutes should adapt their programs to ensure the next generation of health professionals understand and are prepared for health impacts of climate change. • Countries shall use health co-benefits as a central and powerful message to raise public awareness and support for action on climate change. • Nations shall improve research to evaluate and monitor the health impacts of the causes and consequences of climate change. If any questions or if you would like to discuss this more, you can email us at vpe@ifmsa.org. Many thanks!

¡Hi everyone! I believe that the issues you´ve presented are important.

Good day to all
I consider it's important to include the "how" we have to implement the environmental issues related to climate change in all educational levels. The main purpose of considering education as a basis for sustainable development must be put into active action (generation of habits of behavior according to the context). Therefore, it's important to emphasize implementation strategies according to each population ( lifestyle - culture and interests ) such as: methodologies, spaces, trained staff (teachers and/or specialists in the subject and pedagogical training ) and other important items that lead to that knowledge to run, transcend and create a real and true impact that's not only in theory. In addition to generating actions of linkage between different stakeholders (children, youth, adults, public and private institutions) seeking a virtuous circle between participants assume the role of protagonists of change.
